Since it was founded in 1956, Qiryat Eliezer, the home stadium of Maccabi Haifa, could be seen as the "Mecca" of Israeli football. The stadium, which is located in Qiryat Eliezer, a neighborhood at the southern entrance of Haifa, has a current capacity of 14,002 seats.
